Larson was born and raised on a farm near Wakefield, Nebraska, and went to the University of Colorado to study journalism. He soon fell under the influence of a history professor and changed fields. This fateful decision would be the first of two life-changing events in Larson's life. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees at Boulder (1932 and 1933), focusing on fourteenth-century England. |
