Bert M. Fireman Award

 First announced at the 1982 Phoenix Western History Association Conference, to be given to a student who writes the best student article for the Western Historical Quarterly. The editors of the WHQ were selected to be the judges of this prize. The award was supported by Mrs. Bert M. Fireman and Janet Fireman.
