A Bibliography on Polish Americans, 2001-2005

by

Mark Kulikowski

Although research on American Polonia has entered a new century, bibliographic coverage remains essential.1 The aftermath of the Cold War, the redirection of political power, bibliographic control and changing scholarly interests have all helped color the bibliographic picture. Where all this is heading is unclear, but the need for systematic bibliographic coverage remains important. What is clear is that despite the passage of time, interest in Polish Americans remains constant. The most visible manifestation of this interest is in scholarly publications. While significant effort has been made, this bibliography makes no claim of being comprehensive. Works outside the period 2001-2005 which have not been listed previously are included. Works of fiction, juvenile literature, newspaper articles, reprints, church anniversary books, cookbooks, newsletters and individual and collective family genealogies, non-print media, religious (devotional) items and works on U.S. Polish relations have been excluded. It is arranged alphabetically within three broad categories: Bibliographies, Indexes and Guides, Books, Dissertations and Pamphlets, and Articles and Selections. A list of cited periodicals is included. 1
