New York History (ISSN 0146-437x) is published four times a year by the New York State Historical Association. Submitted articles should deal in an original fashion with the history of the state. Articles that deal with the history of other areas, or with general American history must have bearing on New York State history. It is assumed that the article will have some new, previously unexploited material to offer or will present new insights or new interpretations. Suggested length is about 4500 words. Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced. Footnotes should also be typed double-spaced and should be placed at the end of the submitted essay. New York History employs, with some modification, note forms suggested in the Chicago Manual of Style.
The journal will process a manuscript as speedily as possible, but three months should be allowed for a thorough reading. The author will be notified of acceptance or the manuscript will be returned as soon as reading is completed. The Association cannot assume responsibility for the loss of unique or irreplaceable material, although extraordinary care will be taken to guard against loss. The Association is not responsible for statements of fact or opinion made by contributors. Manuscripts and editorial correspondence may be addressed to the Editor, c/o NYSHA, P.O. Box 800, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
Periodicals postage paid at Cooperstown, NY. Postmaster: Send address changes to New York History, P.O. Box 800, Cooperstown, NY 13326-0800.
