NOTICE BOARD

ReViewing History: the Australian Historical Association Biennnial Conference, 5–9 July 2010 will be held at the University of Western Australia, Perth. ReViewing History has invited historians to assess the state of history. What are the debates? What are the challenges? How are academic historians responding to challenges? The theme also invites discussion about popular interest in history as explored through films, literature and 'reality' documentaries. As the conference coincides with NAIDOC Week, papers dealing with Indigenous issues are especially welcome.
Conferences of the Religious History Society, the Network for Research in Women's History and the Australian Society for Sports History will be held in conjunction with the main AHA conference. The program will not be limited to Australian topics. <http://www.theaha.org.au/> The call for papers closed 31 March, but note that funding opportunities are available for postgraduate students and independent historians to attend conference.

The Australian Prime Ministers Centre offers Fellowships and Summer Scholarships to support research projects which investigate the lives, achievements and governments of Australia's prime ministers. Fellowships are available to established scholars or creative artists with a substantial record of achievement in their field. One Fellowship is also reserved for early career academics or creative artists with a record of high achievement. Summer Scholarships are open to students undertaking studies at final-year Honours or postgraduate level. Applicants for the Fellowship program may propose a research, bibliographic or creative project. Summer Scholars may work on a project relating to the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House's public history program or may propose an independent research topic. All projects should draw on at least one collection of prime ministerial material held in Australia or overseas. Applications for the 2010/11 Fellowship program close on 30 June 2010. Summer Scholarship applications close on 1 October 2010. For application forms and further information about the program see <apmc.oph.gov.au/research_scholarship.html> or contact Linda Macfarlane, Manager, Australian Prime Ministers Centre <linda.macfarlane@moadoph.gov.au>; (02) 6270 8134.
