Stephen Burwood is Associate Dean of the College and Director
of Study Abroad Programs at the State University of New York College
at Geneseo. With Melvyn Dubofsky, he edited The Great Depression and
the New Deal, 7 vols. (1990). Recent publications include American Labor,
France, and the Politics of Intervention, 1945-1952 (1999), and "Eugene
V. Debs," in The Dictionary of Literary Biography: Radical and Reform
Writers (2003).
Jacob H. Dorn is professor of history at Wright State University
in Dayton, Ohio. He teaches American religious history, modern American
radical movements, and the United States in the twentieth century. His
publications focus on Protestant social action in the Gilded Age and
Progressive Era. He has edited Socialism and Christianity in Early 20th
Century America (1998) and contributed chapters to Expectations for
the Millennium: American Socialist Visions of the Future (2002).
