H. Roger Grant has made an impressive career of providing solid, informative histories of important American railroads about which little if anything authoritative had been written. This account of the Wabash Railroad joins his earlier studies of the Erie, the Chicago & North Western, and the Chicago Great Western as a major contribution to our understanding of American railroad development. . . .
