San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge certainly deserves close historical
attention and engineering acclaim as one of the most recognizable
man-made landmarks in the United States. Ben Loeterman's documentary,
Golden Gate Bridge, produced for the
PBS
series American Experience, offers a compelling narrative
of the bridge's conception and construction from the engineer Joseph
Strauss's early plans in 1921 to the bridge's opening day on May
27, 1937.
