| The Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center (HMCC) has offered visitors a number of exhibitions highlighting particular aspects of Greek American life. "Threads of Tradition," for example, which ran from October 1996 through January 1997, focused on immigrant marriage arrangements and wedding rituals. Another exhibition, "Defender of Democracy," which ran from February 23 through June 30, 1998, presented the history of Greek Americans in the armed forces. Photographs of George Dilboy, the first Greek American awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, and other distinguished military figures highlighted the role of Greek Americans in the nation's wars. |
