| The lynching of Emmett Till is once again in the news. In recent months, two new documentaries and a new book have reawakened public interest in the 1955 tragedy. In January 2003, when Mamie Till Mobley, the courageous mother of the slain Chicago teenager, died, scores of tributes acknowledged her relentless pursuit of social justice. |
