In David Esposito's review of Jeffery C. Livingston's Swallowed by Globalism (March 2003), the reviewer refers to "Democrat representative J. William Fulbright." "Democrat" is a noun and cannot properly be used to modify another noun. The adjectival form of the word is "Democratic," meaning that this passage should read "Democratic representative J. William Fulbright." |

Bob Dole pioneered the improper use of Democrat as a noun in order to demonstrate his contempt for the opposing party. It is disheartening to see a usage that is both insulting and grammatically incorrect appear in a journal of record for a major disciplinary organization. |

Egad, I am exposed as a founding member of the Vast Right-wing Conspiracy that labors maniacally to corrupt the English language, eviscerate the Bill of Rights, outlaw the Democratic party, and turn Baskin-Robbins's 31 flavors into three. Curses, foiled again! |

The reader has taken an important issue, the calculated perversion of the meaning of a word by leaders with sinister intent, and trivialized it to absurdity. Somewhere between several drafts of the review, I lost an "-ic." The sagacious and hardworking editors at JAH did not detect this infelicity, nor did I. I take complete responsibility for this error; no disrespect was intended. |

As for the reader, he had better get his aluminum foil hat back on his head before the CIA/Martians start zapping him with gamma rays again. I would help him, but I have to attend an emergency meeting of the Ultra-Intolerant Superpatriot Militia so we can ready our Black Helicopters. |
