| Claudia Guarisco provides an interesting example of the internationalization of research on Mexican history. Guarisco uses a theoretical and historiographic framework derived largely from Europeanists' consideration of the profound political changes of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, yet she combines this framework with significant empirical research on a decidedly non-European locale, the Valley of Mexico. The result is an extremely interesting book. |
