JULY · 1908 From James Jenkins Dossed New York July 3. 1908 My Dear Doctor Washington This is to say good bye to you and Mrs. Washington. We will sail D. V for Liberia tomorrow morning. ~ expect to be a fortnight in Hamburg and to reach Liberia about the lath. Aug. D. V. I trust I shall hear from you often and that our friendship will become more intimate. On behalf of the Liberian Government I thank you for the very valuable help you have given the Commission which shall be prominently mentioned in our report and I hope some action taken there on to record the nation's appreciation. ~ just received an English paper this morning in which you are prominently mentioned in relation with the Commission.
