The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

The BOOKER T. WASHINGTON Papers From James A. Cobb Boston, Aug. 26 1907 Dear Dr. Washington: ~ am here in the City where the Niagara Movement is expected to hold forth, and expect to attend sessions, if I can find out where it will meet. There seems to be no Esprit de Corps -- everybody is up in the air --- in fact there is no definite program as yet. The leaders seem to be disgruntled among themselves. However, I shall remain and see the outcome. Very truly yours, James A. Cobb ALS Con. 344 BTW Papers DLC. James A. Cobb to Emmett Jay Scott Washington, D.C. Sept. a, 1909 Dear Bro. Scott: I have just returned home after a three weeks visit out East. Found your two several communications waiting me upon desk on my arrival. Thank you very much for badge and receipt and glad to know that you had such a good meeting of the Business League; sorry that I can't say as much for the N. M., which met in Boston, and of which I was in attendance, it seemed to have been beset with misgivings and discord. Only one public meeting and no well arranged program at that, the others were committee meetings where Trotter and M organ t wrangled. I think the Movement has about met its ''watermellon-Iou'' as would be said by Bob Cole in the Shoo-fly Regiment, when something is about to be smashed up. I shall hand your letter to Mr. Waller2 upon his return to the city, he is now in New York. Sincerely, TLS Con. 344 BTW Papers DLC. James A. Cobb ~ Clement G. Morgan. 2 Possibly the George Walter listed in the 1905 Washington, D.C., city directory as a cook. 334
