The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

FEBRUARY 1 904 however, next month when I shall have more time to see you and talk over important matters. Yours very truly, Booker T. Washington] TLc Con. 3 BTW Papers DLC. ~ Andrew B. Humphrey, a white man, was secretary of the Constitutional League of the United States, with headquarters in New York City. To Wilford H. Smith Tuskegee, Ala.] February a, 1909 My dear Mr. Smith: Enclosed I send you copy of letter which ~ sent to Professor Hugh M. Browne some days ago, together with his reply. What I want you to do is to undertake the preparation of the jury decision circular at once, and follow it later on by instructions for voting, etc. Of course we want to pay you for your work. I am surprised that I have heard nothing regarding that Boston matter. What is the trouble there? I want to congratulate you most heartily upon the moral effect of the recent decision. I have not heard from you as to whether or not in any degree it reached the vital purpose which we had in mind, but I do know that the whole thing has paid so far as the jury part of it is concerned because it has given the colored people a hopefulness that means a great deal, and I have spared no pains to let everybody know that you are entitled to great credit for the victory. I am sure in the end it is going to help you in your business. Very truly yours, tBooker T. Washington] TLc Con. :5 BTW Papers DLC. 423
