DECEMBER · 1903 free in the woods to find its way by a sluggish lazy route into a little ditch within a few feet of the school's reservoir. This drainage thoroughly impregnates the soil before it enters the ditch which usually contains no water where it must seep away in the soil or evaporate. The odor in the woods on passing tells its tale. 'Tis dangerous to have human dejections emptied any where near a well or water supply as is true in this case. I shall continue to study these conditions and renotify you promptly of any out break or considerable increase. I may have to ask that an experienced chemist and bacteriologist be supplied with samples of our water for thorough investigation. Yours with great respect. Jno. A.
