The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

OCTOBER · 1903 cation Board whereby I may do for colored newspapers what Dr Dabney and his assistants do for white newspapers- namely, the preparation of items which shall tend to preserve interest in the various reforms these boards are seeking to promote! I sh'd be especially grateful if I c'd do some such service for say $35 per month, or even more if possible. I must really earn more money in some way, than I am now earning. I can say with entire truthfulness that now I do more actual work for the school, and touch many more outside interests than anyone connected with the school, but on this I make no plea! I am content to do my level best in every way that I can and fully recognizing the limitations of the school's resources I c'd not hope for any further increase from it—or from you—but if this outside resource could be reached I sh'd be most grateful for whatever you sh'd do.
