The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

I have the a/c just received from Small, Maynard & Co., in which they state that they have printed & sent out Good copies of the Future of the American Negro as proposed by the Slater board, thus leaving on hand ~79z copies to be distributed. You will remember you sent me a list of members of the Alabama convention & were to send a list of the members of a Virginia convention, it has not yet arrived. Had we not better retain the balance of this edition for any names that may turn up in the near future as this is all the Trustees have as yet authorised printed. Yours respectfully. Ben;.
