The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

The BOOKER T. WASHINGTON Papers vidually. Forward this letter promptly to your Madam I send in your care. Hope you are wed. When am I to see you? Yours faithfully, I. Garland Penn Chief Negro Dept. HLS Con. 863 BTW Papers DLC. ''Dictated.'' ~ J. G. Oglesby was one of the five members of the Committee on the Colored Exhibit. He was a white wholesale grocer in Atlanta. From Irving Garland Penn Atlanta, Ga. Aug lath begs My Dear Friend: Your favor of the Pith is to hand. I am working on the matter for all it is worth. The latest dodge is by President Collier suggesting that we have a separate dedicatory exercise of the Negro Building and asking me to consider the same. I shall insist upon your name on the principal programme and shall either get you or a point blank refusal, then it may be that I will take to the dedication business. I am using for all it is worth your help to them at Washington, and the magnificent exhibit you are making here. I have many interesting things to tell when I see you. I have kept your Exhibit before the world and truth to say it has aroused considerable jealousy. I will talk with you. They cant down me. I am putting your Exhibit to the front because it is something and there is something behind it. In your next let me know exactly what date you will be here and over what road you are coming. It is possible that I may have to be in Virginia for a day or so during the first week in September. I send you a number of tags and clips for shipping. Good work at Wetumpka. I am very glad to see it. Govemor Bullock a very good friend of the Committee on Ceremonies and Ceremonial Days is in New York. I have written him urging that he write to President Collier in your interest. Faithfully yours I. Garland Penn Chief Negro Dept. HLS Con. 863 BTW Papers DLC. ''Dictated.'' 568
