The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

SEPTEMBER · I 8 9 3 have given careful study, and I believe the programme can be arranged to cover the studies down against each teacher. It is the policy of the school to give each teacher just as far as possible, a special branch to teach and I wish this carried out as nearly as possible. A teacher can do the best work when he has but one or two branches. Mr. Young has a plan for a schedule which I think the Committee will find valuable. I beg of the committee to give at once this matter IMMEDIATE, but careful attention as the school has now been in session two weeks at an expense of $2500 with the programme not right. Yours truly, B. T. Washington TLpS Con. ~o6 BTW Papers DLC. To Susan B. Bransfordi Tuskegee, Ala.] Sept. 30th, 1893 Miss Bransford: ~ am very anxious to have you take Miss Burke's2 place in the matter of looking after the missionary work done by the girls. This would include looking after the missionary society which I think meets twice a month and the outside work being done by the society. The greater portion of your salary this year, in case you take this work will be paid by the Woman's Home Mission~ary] Association, and you would have to correspond with them at least once a month letting them know of the missionary work etc. Your salary this year, would be $30. per month and board. In addition to this, in case you take this work, your travelling expenses would be paid, that is the expenses incurred in coming from your home to, the school. If you will take this work arid will make out a bill for your expenses from your home to the school this year, the money will be sentt]. Yours, Booker T. Washington] TLp Con. ~o6 BTW Papers DLC.
