The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

AUGUST · 1887 fluenced by our ''ad.'' in one of these papers. Use the words found on back of last Teachers Association Minutes. Pay Fortune's bill for advertising if he sends it there, Hastily yours B. T. Washington ALS Con. 86 BTW Papers DLC. To Warren Logan 47 Buckingham St. Boston, Mass. Aug. 3-87 Dear Mr. Logan: ~ am very glad to hear about the ''H. P. Haven'' donation. This is very encouraging. Some three years ago ~ called on Mr. Bond2 regarding this, Mr. Courtney I guess saw him also. If you can possibly see your way clear to do so I wish you would get the plans it Is very important that the ceiling flooring &c. be gotten ready now so that every thing will be wed seasoned. There is much of the window and door facing that it will take a long time to get out if we do not have the plans. ~ rec'd all the information you sent regarding the University. As matters turned out ~ hardly see how the result could have been much different. It will surprise me if the Montgomery people raise a $~ooo in cash. But perhaps the best thing has been done and it may prove a blessing in disguise to us. We expect to start home about Aug. ~o-87. Send $~.50 to Menard3 & Son Jacksonville Fla. to pay for and ''ad'' in their paper—the ''Leader.'' Mrs. W. and all send regards. Yours Sincerely ALS Con. 86 BTW Papers DLC. B. T.
