Hubbard, born in 183~, moved to Malden at age twenty and worked in the general store of Colonel William Dickinson. He then went into the mercantile business for himself and in ~~ moved to Charleston. In Malden he was active in the Presbyterian Church. He once served as Kanawha County sheriff. The purpose of the ''Remarks'' column of this document is unclear, but presumably Hubbard was the person who reported the wedding to the county officials. To James Fowle Baldwin Marshall Malden W.Va.
