May an 1882 Dear GenI: ~ saw several gentlemen yesterday in Plantsville and one here to day who signified their intention of doing something for us; and said that they would send their amts to you. As we want to have the building ready to use by Sept fist it is important that no time be lost. For this reason I want to ask you to forward what ever amt you receive to Mr. G. W. Campbell, Tuskegee. He understands the whole arrangemts at Tuskegee and will see that the money ~is] correctly applied. He and I had an understanding before I left. Mr. Campbell is to keep the accounts and one of the other commissioners is to superintend the work. Please get his receipt. Mr. Fessenden~ & Mr Smiths have been very kind to me.
