The BOOKER T. WASHINGTON Papers produced which are likely to arouse race prejudice. ~ have not seen a copy of the bill, but will try to obtain one, and will send it to you. As ~ understand it, power has been given to the City officials to stop any play which in their opinion is likely to arouse race prejudice. It is a good deal of responsibility to put on the City officials, and a great deal depends on the calibre of the men in office. ~ am extremely sorry to learn that you have been called to Maiden, West Virginia, on such a sad errand. ~ hope that you wiD accept my sincerest sympathy.
