The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

Porter. ~ reed a letter from my mother Saturday stating that ~ may be Excused from Tuskegee, arid go to Bishop College. ~ dont like Tuskegee Inst well enough to stay here. The first reason is, the food dosnt agree with me, it gives me the heart burn. Second, walking so much dosent agree with my feet, they axe sore with corn's. Third, it works you so hard to leave breakfast at six thirty, and clean up your room and get to work at seven o'clock. When you get to work you are so tired you can hardly breath.2 ~ would like to leave rite away if possiable for Bishop College, which is in Marshall Texas. 364
