The page presentation framework of the Booker T. Washington papers is designed to provide researchers worldwide with searchable access to the thousands of pages comprising the fourteen volumes, most of which are out of print. Adapted from the National Academy Press's Open Book framework, this framework allows searching down to the page level, provides sorting of search results chronologically, enables easy navigation across multiple volumes, and allows page-by-page local printing (via PDF) of every page.

JANUARY . lglo If I can help in the way of advice in the starting of the new school there, please let me know. Yours very truly, Booker T. Washington TLpS Con. 739 BTW Papers DLC. ~ Schmidlapp enclosed a copy of his letter of Dec. 7, Tog, declining to aid Tuskegee's building fund but sending $~c~o for the repair fund. (Con. 737, BOW Papers, DLC.) From Emmett Jay Scott N Y tCity] ~an. ~2/~9~0 Dear Mr. Washington: I have written you that the speakers for the N Y meeting are to be: Dr. I. H. Finley, Dr. Diliard & yourself with Mr Schieffelin calling the meeting to order and Mr Low presiding.t In addition, the Hampton singers are to appear & we are to have the Moving Pictures—a pretty full program I think you will agree. I saw the pictures this a.m. with Dr. Park, Miss Pusey and Miss Parmei—gc all of us agree that they are likely to be a pleasing feature. I cut out the slides & told him to use only the Moving Pictures. As a whole, they are very good & yet only the outside work can be shown none of the girls industries & none of the mechanical industries except in the case of masons & carpenters on new heating plant. The fawn pictures are very good. I think quite frankly that it is needed to have a word said about some features of the moving pictures the others all agree with me. Just who ought to do this is a problem. The pictures will take z5 minutes only at the outside & with this cost & also the cost of a man from Tuskegee will make it quite considerable. Mr. Broome3 will give full rehearsal the morning of Jan e~ with anyone we may select. I am to meet at Armstrong rooms tomorrow (Thursday) to finally decide upon detailed arrangement &c. Mr Schieffelin after I had spent 6 or ~ hours trying to reach him simply left to me a decision as to all the matters regarding the program. Mr. Low secured Mr. Finley. 26
