genealogies, and all sorts of documentation. The Vie privée
de Louis XV provides a four-volume history of the entire reign,
more detailed and better documentedfor all its scurrilitythan
many modern histories. The Journal historique de la révolution
opérée . . . par M. de Maupeou runs to seven
volumes;
